Standing Bear
Level 1 Ranking
Valley Spirit Taijiquan
Requirements:
1.
Walk
continuously for 1 hour on a flat track
and walk a distance of 3 miles in one hour
(i.e., 20 minutes per mile rate).
2. Participate in Valley Spirit
Taijiquan group classes or private
lessons on a
regular basis.
3. Demonstrate 4 movements of The Bear from the Five Animal Frolics.
4. Lead a class in doing the Eight Treasures Qigong.
5. Perform the Grasping the Sparrow’s Tail Taijiquan Drill.
6. Demonstrate the 24 Form, Yang Style, T’ai Chi Ch’uan Short Form.
7. Answer
25 questions correctly out of 30 multiple choice questions
about Taijiquan and Qigong. All

Mr. Garofalo will judge the performances, demonstrations and tests.
Students who complete all seven requirements will receive a certificate
acknowledging their hard work, dedication, and accomplishments;
and, certifying that they have
qualified for The Standing Bear, Level 1
Ranking, from Valley Spirit T'ai Chi Ch'uan.
